Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the portfolio tracker?
The tracker's accuracy depends on the current prices you input. For real-time accuracy, update the current prices regularly from reliable cryptocurrency exchanges like CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, or your exchange.
What does "Average Cost" mean?
Average cost (or purchase price) is the average price you paid per coin. If you bought Bitcoin at different times, calculate your average: (Total Amount Spent ÷ Total Coins Bought). This helps determine your actual profit/loss.
Should I include all my crypto holdings?
Yes! Include all holdings for an accurate picture of your portfolio. This includes coins on exchanges, hardware wallets, staking positions, and DeFi investments. Use the "Other" fields for additional cryptocurrencies.
How do I track DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)?
For DCA tracking, calculate your average purchase price: divide your total investment by total coins purchased. For example, if you bought 1 BTC at $40,000 and 0.5 BTC at $50,000, your average cost is (40,000 + 25,000) ÷ 1.5 = $43,333.
What about tax implications?
This calculator shows unrealized gains/losses (before selling). When you sell crypto, you'll owe capital gains tax on profits. Short-term gains (<1 year holding) are taxed as ordinary income; long-term gains (>1 year) have lower tax rates. Use our Crypto Tax Calculator for detailed tax planning.
