Frequently Asked Questions

What operations does this calculator support?
Addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (×), division (÷), percentages (%), square root (√), exponents (x²), and basic decimal calculations. Use the Clear button to reset, or Backspace to remove the last digit.
How do the memory buttons (MC/MR/M+/M-) work?
M+ adds the current display value to memory. M- subtracts the current display value from memory. MR recalls the stored memory value to the display. MC clears the memory. An "M" indicator appears above the display whenever a value is stored, so you can use memory to hold a running subtotal while you do other calculations - useful for adding up several numbers that each need their own intermediate calculation first.
How do I calculate percentages?
Enter a number, press an operator (+, −, ×, or ÷), enter the percentage value, then press % followed by =. To subtract 15% from 200: press 200, −, 15, %, = to get 170. To find 15% of 200 directly: press 200, ×, 15, %, = to get 30.
Can I copy my calculation result?
Yes, click the display area (or the copy icon inside it) to copy the current value to your clipboard for use in other applications or documents.
What is the order of operations?
This calculator evaluates left-to-right as you press each operator, like a basic desk calculator - it does not apply PEMDAS/scientific operator precedence. For example, 2 + 3 × 4 = evaluates as (2 + 3) × 4 = 20, not 2 + (3 × 4) = 14. If you need scientific-style precedence, group your calculation manually by pressing = after each step in the order you want it evaluated.
